Experience

  • Two (2) years experience in the specific department/area/program
  • Experience in the area of lymph edema training, is an asset

  • Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy

  • An understanding of tissue healing timelines
  • Ability to communicate with and deal effectively with clients and their families

  • Understanding of breast cancer surgery, chemo and radiation is an asset
  • Strong understnding of postural alignment and correction is an asset
  • Ability to integrate ideas into a team treatment approach
  • Strong understanding of shoulder biomechanics is an asset
  • Knowledge in biopsychosocial approach in the provision of care
  • Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members
  • Ability to be innovative and creative
  • Flexible & willing to adapt approach/priorities depending on client/family need
  • An understanding of lymphatic system, lymphedema, and experience fitting compression garments is an asset.
  • A good working knowledge of the continuum of Breast Cancer Care, as well as public and community resources.
