This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization.

We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Health & Wellness to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Durham location in Sudbury.

Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Health & Wellness, the Team Lead – Fitness is responsible for coordinating the planning and development of programs and services according to the YMCA policies, procedures and standards ensuring participant satisfaction.

LOCATION: Sudbury, ON

RATE OF PAY: $21.63 to $23.08 per hour

HOURS: 20 per week

Major Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality programs by instructing group fitness classes, conducting Smart Start appointments, and providing personal training
  • Lead fitness classes or arrange for coverage as needed
  • Contribute to the development of seasonal group fitness programming
  • Design and implement promotional initiatives to enhance program participation
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers
  • Support and mentor staff and volunteers to foster a positive work environment
  • Participate actively in the Duty Manager rotation
  • Uphold YMCA Standards of Excellence in all daily responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Association

Qualifications

  • College diploma or University degree in Physical Fitness Management, Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Physical Education or related field
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
  • YMCA Fitness Certification(s) or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role, including leadership experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and a strong team player
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
