Position Overview

Tidal Electrical Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our YVR team with a clear path into a Foreman role. This position is intended for a dependable, detail-oriented electrician who consistently delivers quality work, communicates well, and is ready to take on increased responsibility as projects and crews grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform commercial and institutional electrical installations.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, Teck cable, feeders, panels, fire alarm systems, lighting, lighting controls, and associated systems.
  • Strong understanding of 3 phase systems and pulling wire.
  • Assist with shutdowns, tie-ins, troubleshooting, and deficiency work.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, commissioning, and deficiency resolution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
  • Mentor apprentices and promote safe work practices on site.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of commercial experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, safety, and quality.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Reliable transportation (SkyTrain available)

YVR / Airport Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card), must have no criminal record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and security screening
  • Comfortable working under strict access control, escorting, and shutdown procedures.
  • Experience working in airports or other high-security facilities is considered an asset.

Pay: $49.90-$55.89 per hour
