Course Code and Title: ENGC86H3 Creative Writing: Poetry II 

Course Description: An intensive study of the writing of poetry through a selected theme, topic, or author. The course will undertake its study through discussions, readings, and workshop sessions.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in English, Creative Writing related field, or relevant teaching experience. Strong academic record and professional promise. Strong publishing record is an asset. Teaching experience at the university level is an asset, especially previous experience in the teaching of writing about creative writing at the university level. Past teaching experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position. Please include a proposed course syllabus with the application.

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1 - April 30, 2026. 
Note: all positions involve completion of any course grading not finished by April 30, 2026 for Winter courses.

Salary: in accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70 
Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term: $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term: $11,030.36
