Your Role as Bakery Manager

We are looking for a passionate Bakery Manager who is looking for the next challenge in their career and step into a leadership role and develop a strong bakery team. Working as part of the production and senior team, you'll play a big part in making our products best in class. Your leadership and can-do attitude will support the bakery in all aspect of operations, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of bakers and support staff
• Oversee daily bakery operations, ensuring efficiency and quality control
• Innovate and develop new baked goods in line with market trends and customer demands
• Maintain relationships with cafes and wholesale clients, ensuring exceptional service, quality and consistency
• Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to optimize costs and reduce waste
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Collaborate with senior management to drive growth

• Proven experience as a bakery manager, head baker, or similar leadership role
• Passion for baking and creativity in product development
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Ability to manage high-volume hands-on production while maintaining quality
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to work early mornings and weekends as needed

What you bring to the table

• You are a passionate for baking.
• You have 2+ years' supervisory experience in a similar role, ideally in the baking, food production, food service or the hospitality industry
• You have 3+ years' experience in commercial baking
• You are a great communicator, problem solver and critical thinker
• You demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills in building camaraderie amongst the team
• You are a capable people manager and leader with proven experience in recruitment and selection, retention, staff development and disciplinary and termination procedures
• You have knowledge of basic financial management skills, understand the fundamentals of profitability.
• You are experienced in basic computer tasks including email, word, excel, and data analysis
• You demonstrate and embed the company values throughout the department and the company as a whole
• You pay attention to detail, able to clearly present information
• You have the ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to achieve results
• You are flexible across a 7-day schedule (we do aim for a set schedule; however, this industry does require the need for flexibility on occasion)
• You are willing to be available for a 5am start, and weekend availability
• You have your own vehicle

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing/ walking for all tasks
• Constant use of both hands
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 7.5 kg., reaching below shoulder level, bending and turning
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 22 kg, pushing, pulling, crouching, bending and reaching below shoulder level
