Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts following established recipes and presentation standards
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, including cake decorating techniques to enhance visual appeal
  • Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks in the kitchen, maintaining efficiency during busy periods
  • Ensure all baked goods meet quality and safety standards, adhering to proper food handling procedures
  • Package baked items securely for retail display or takeout orders, maintaining freshness and presentation quality
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment sanitation and organization of workstations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Follow all food safety regulations and kitchen protocols to uphold health standards

Skills

  • Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a restaurant or bakery setting
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests
  • Experience with food handling, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness in a busy kitchen environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen experience in the food industry preferred, especially within a bakery or dessert-focused establishment
  • Creative flair for designing visually appealing desserts that delight customers
  • Knowledge of food industry standards related to hygiene, safety, and quality control

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.75-$19.00 per hour
