Part-time Human Resources Coordinator

Highland Community Residential Services (HCRS) is a non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health concerns. We believe in fostering safe, inclusive, and respectful environments where both the people we support and our employees can thrive.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator (24 hours per week) to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting the people who make our mission possible by providing day-to-day HR support, ensuring employees feel valued, supported, and set up for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment efforts including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
- Support new employee onboarding, orientation, and ongoing engagement.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in compliance with legislation and organizational policies.
- Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Provide professional support to employees, directing inquiries to the appropriate resources.
- Assist with staff training coordination, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
- Participate in community job fairs and outreach efforts.
- Prepare HR-related reports and support HR projects and initiatives.
- Promote inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility through leadership of the IDEA Community.
- Contribute to sustaining a positive, safe, and respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- HR or administrative support experience, ideally in a non-profit or community-based setting.
- Prior experience in a unionized environment considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS or payroll system experience an asset.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health concerns is an asset.
- Interest in pursuing or holding a CPHR designation considered an asset.
Work Schedule
- Part-time position (24 hours per week).
- Flexibility may occasionally be required to support organizational needs.
