Debt Collection Paralegal

Chapter Law Professional Corporation has an immediate opening for a Legal Collection Paralegal with 5 years or more of experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Handle inbound and outbound calls.
· Contacting debtors by phone to solicit repayment of outstanding accounts.
· Review accounts on a regular basis.
· Negotiating settlement options with debtors, Trustees and Lawyers that are within predetermined parameters.
· Maintains and updates customer information in files with detail and accuracy.
· Deal with highly confidential information in a secure environment.
· Skip tracing files when unable to reach or contact debtors using available information.
. Able to independently draft Small Claims Court documents and pleadings, with experience representing in Small Claims Court.
· Perform to all regulatory standards
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
· Experience with collecting purchased/third party accounts is mandatory.
· 5+ years of experience.
· Exceptional verbal communications and a professional phone etiquette.
· Proven ability to meet targets.
· Excellent computer and keyboarding skills.
· Proficient with MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
· College Diploma or University Degree in Paralegal Studies. P1 License in good standing with the LSO.
· Ability to work independently and as a team player with a positive attitude, initiative and a strong work ethic.
