Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Barista/Cashier to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items. You will also handle transactions efficiently and maintain a clean and inviting café environment. Ideal candidates will have a passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist customers with menu selections, providing recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for processing orders and handling cash transactions accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
  • Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, pastries, and other supplies; assist in restocking as needed.
  • Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere while addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Experience

  • Previous barista experience or background in the food service industry is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Aloha POS or Micros POS systems is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
