POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for cooking menu items for all diets in quantities as specified on all production sheets; prepares menu items as specified for the cooking rotation currently assigned to; Must strictly follow all guidelines pertaining to Cook Chill production; Complies with Jewish dietary laws as determined by the Simkin Centre; Maintains ingredient and portion control as per standardized recipes; Supervises and replaces dietary staff in the absence of the Food Services Manager or designate; Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures. Ability to lift 50 pounds utilizing appropriate lifting techniques. Other duties as assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Grade XII education English-as-a-Additional Language (EAL) Level 6 required.  Must successfully complete a prescribed skills test Certificate from a recognized cooking school, or two years experience with excellent references working as a Cook / relief Cook in the Simkin Centre Valid Food Handler Certificate

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years relevant experience in a commercial kitchen Experience in a cook chill production environment
