Athabasca University's Faculty of Health Disciplines is currently recruiting to the position of Administrative Assistant, Student Services.

FHD actively promotes research excellence and is home to two Canada Research Chairs in Regulation, Social Governance, and Inequities in Health as well as in Resurgent Methodologies for Indigenous Health. Faculty members are engaged in programs of research in a variety of health-related areas. Faculty members' research is funded nationally, including CFI, CIHR, and SSHRC, as well as through regional and provincial organizations.

The Position:
Reportingto the Faculty Manager of the Faculty of Health Disciplines, the Administrative Assistant, Student Services serves as the first point of contact for student inquiries, providing program-related information to the public, current students, and the broader AU community. This front-line role is essential in supporting a positive student experience by triaging and redirecting inquiries as needed. As part of the Student Services team within the Faculty of Health Disciplines (FHD), the position also involves general administrative and student support tasks. The successful candidate will be adept at working with both current and evolving AU systems, delivering respectful, confidential, and professional service to students and colleagues alike.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Office Administration Certificate or Diploma preferred
- Minimum of two years' experience in administrative support, preferably in a post-secondary environment
- At least one year of experience in student-focused customer service
- Experience managing telephone inquiries and triaging student cases is an asset
- Strong computer and database skills are required
- Proven ability to work productively in a remote work setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office applications is required; familiarity with MyCreds, Alfresco, CRM Recruit,EllucianSRM, Greymatter, Amazon Connect, Brightspace, and BANNER is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
