Want your words to change lives? Then this position is for you. We're looking for a strong communicator with an analytical edge. You'll be responsible for creating content that helps ApplyBoard stand out, from high-profile communications to insight reports. You'll devise and own a smart content strategy that combines thought leadership, data, and storytelling to compliment our marketing mix. Together with the team of strategic content creators that you'll manage, your content will increase brand awareness, reach new customers, and create better engagements with our existing clients, industry partners, and government.
You'll be part of a thriving marketing team, and a mission-based company that wants to unlock the potential of every aspiring mind. You'll use your passion for communication on a daily basis.
What you'll do everyday:
Manage, coach, and grow a team of strategic content creators to support the planning and execution of all strategic communications
Develop ApplyBoard's strategic content strategy and calendar of deliverables, assigning work to the team, ensuring deadlines are met and high-quality content is produced
Source, organize, and analyze large amounts of first- and third-party data, making educated conclusions to craft informative, information-heavy communications including industry and study trend reports, insight reports, gated e-books, and report publications that can be used across our different segments and audiences
Champion the smart use of emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance content creation, insights, and distribution, while maintaining a high standard of originality, insight, and authenticity
Create compelling consumable content for our blog, social channels, and other owned channels for lead gen and nurture, sometimes ghostwritten on behalf of other leaders
Equip our sales teams with content and training they need to engage buyers effectively and close deals faster
Utilize content to establish ApplyBoard as a thought leader within the ed-tech landscape, building brand awareness and positively impacting operations
Apply SEO best practices and research to optimize content
Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to turn content into various formats, sometimes providing direction on design and distribution
Co-create government relations and sector advocacy material for all major destination markets, in conjunction with ApplyBoard's legal team
Facilitate content brainstorming sessions within marketing and cross-functionally
Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive insights, and opportunities for innovation in marketing strategy and tactics
Stay informed about industry best practices, technologies, and regulatory developments to continuously enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing efforts
Build and refine presentation decks for key ApplyBoard events, including keynote presentations for executive leadership
What you bring to the table:
7+ years of professional writing and editing experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a tech industry
Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail and editing ability
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships cross-functionally and with leadership
Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills resulting in the ability to hit aggressive deadlines
Previous experience managing and/or mentoring writers and content creators
Experience creating technical, editorial, and keyword-targeted content
Strong understanding of marketing principles and SEO best practices
Strong understanding of the international education landscape, esp. in relation to government policies
Ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly content
Thrives in an independent work environment with the ability to problem-solve and manage
Ability to work well under pressure while producing high-quality work
Experience with marketing and automation tools, including Hubspot, WordPress, and Canva is an asset
Experience analysing, manipulating, and parsing data using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, and Tableau is an asset
