Human Resources Student and Training Coordinator (1 part-time position)

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Human Resources Student and Training Coordinator to work on the Human Resources Team in the Corporate Services division at our Citi Plaza location, London, Ontario.

Under the direction of the Human Resources Partner, the successful candidate will: 

  • Coordinate student placements, liaise with academic institutions, and identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires and students, ensuring compliance, documentation completion, and HRIS requirements
  • Facilitate and present comprehensive HR orientation for all new employees and students.
  • Maintain student tracking and records, coordinate evaluations, and provide support for recognition programs.
  • Support preceptors/mentors by explaining guidelines and processes, providing resources and training materials, and responding to inquiries.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies and guidelines for student placements.
  • Collaborate with Privacy and Risk Management to facilitate affiliation agreements with educational institutions.
  • Participate in external committees and promote student education in public health.
  • Support organizational training and learning tracking through the Learning Management System.
  • Provide administrative support for internal and external training, including scheduling, booking facilities, equipment set up, maintaining records, etc.
  • Develop training resources such as FAQs, job aids, and tip sheets.
  • Manage ad hoc volunteer opportunities, including orientation, onboarding, and support for assignment, scheduling, and volunteer position descriptions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed university degree in Human Resources (HR), Education, or relevant health field.  Candidates who have an equivalent level of expertise acquired through related employment experience and on-the-job training or alternative education may be considered in order to support Employment Equity.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation completed or in progress is an asset.
  • Two years of previous work experience in student coordination or providing HR training and orientation in a health or academic environment.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office applications and experience with the HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and development of polices, procedures, and education resources.
  • Experience in building and sustaining community partnerships for educational activities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Flexible work hours are required; and
  • The ability to communicate in French and other languages would be considered an asset.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $ $39.99 based on qualifications and experience.
