Wood is recruiting a Senior/Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer to join its Canadian operations, focusing on projects in the Bioproducts sector. This opportunity is remote.
The Role
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior/Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer to join its Canadian operations. This role will support Bioproduct projects (Pulp and paper), primarily located in Eastern Canada. This role will ensure compliance with company procedures, codes, and safety standards while coordinating multidisciplinary and distributed teams, and support project execution.

Wood recrute un(e) ingénieur(e) principal(e)/chef en mécanique et tuyauterie pour rejoindre ses opérations canadiennes, axées sur les projets dans le secteur des bioproduits. Ce poste est en télétravail.
Le rôle
Ce poste soutiendra des projets de bioproduits (pâtes et papiers), principalement situés dans l'Est du Canada. Il/elle veillera au respect des procédures de l'entreprise, des codes et des normes de sécurité, tout en coordonnant des équipes multidisciplinaires et distribuées, et en soutenant l'exécution des projets.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in FEED/ detailed engineering, including the preparation on/or review of technical deliverables, specifications, etc.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality systems
- Coordinate and lead work with distributed teams and work-share offices
- Monitor team performance and forecast resource needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Support procurement, vendor selection, and technical bid evaluations.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry standards and tools, and implement improvements
- Promote a safety culture
- In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English-speaking stakeholders across Canada
Responsabilités typiques

- Soutenir les activités d'approvisionnement, la sélection des fournisseurs et l'évaluation technique des offres.
- Coordonner avec les clients, les entrepreneurs et les organismes de réglementation tout au long du cycle de vie du projet.
- Se tenir à jour sur les normes et outils de l'industrie, et mettre en œuvre des améliorations.
- Promouvoir une culture de sécurité.
- Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, cette personne devra interagir avec des parties prenantes francophones et anglophones à travers le Canada.

Expected
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Bilingual in French and English
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ); registration in other Canadian provinces is considered an asset.
- At least 10-15 years of relevant technical experience in analysis, design, specification and procurement of Pulp & Paper and industrial process plant equipment and piping
- Strong knowledge of industry practices and mechanical and piping codes and standards
Experience in process plant engineering, including:
Design and drafting software (both 2D & 3D)
- Piping stress analysis
Static equipment (e.g. tank and vessel) design
Experience with tender documents and engineering deliverables
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Committed to client satisfaction and team success

- 10 à 15 ans d'expérience pertinente en conception, analyse, spécification et approvisionnement d'équipements et tuyauterie pour les usines de pâtes et papiers ou de procédés industriels.
- Bonne connaissance des pratiques de l'industrie et des codes et normes en mécanique et tuyauterie.
Expérience en ingénierie d'usines de procédés, incluant :
Logiciels de conception (2D et 3D)
- Analyse de contraintes de tuyauterie
Conception d'équipements statiques (réservoirs, cuves)
Expérience avec les documents d'appel d'offres et livrables d'ingénierie.
- Excellentes compétences en communication et en leadership.
