Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Snow Plow Operator or snow removal person to join our team and ensure safe, efficient snow removal during winter months. In this vital role, you will operate snow plowing equipment to clear roads, driveways, parking lots, and snow blowers and shovels to walkways, maintaining accessibility and safety for employees, visitors, and the community. Your expertise in machinery operation and snow plowing/removal will help us deliver reliable service regardless of weather conditions. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment while contributing to the safety and functionality of our facilities.

Duties

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment such as salt spreaders to clear snow and ice from designated areas
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of machinery, including mechanical checks and fluid levels, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition
  • Apply salt or de-icing agents to prevent ice formation and improve traction on walkways and roadways
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to address any equipment issues promptly and efficiently
  • operate snow blowers or push shovels clearing snow from walkways
  • Perform routine yard inspections to identify hazards or areas requiring attention; report any safety concerns immediately
  • Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including hours worked, areas cleared, materials used, and safety checks conducted
  • Follow all safety protocols related to machinery operation, snow removal procedures, and landscape maintenance practices

Experience

  • Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery in winter conditions but will train
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Knowledge of safety standards associated with operating heavy machinery and performing outdoor maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness
  • drivers license would be an asset
