Position Overview: Senior Sous Chef

The Senior Sous Chef is the second-in-command in the kitchen and a key leadership role supporting the Chef de Cuisine. This position combines hands-on culinary execution with strong managerial responsibilities. The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring consistency across all stations, mentoring junior leaders, and stepping into the Chef de Cuisine role when required.

Key Responsibilities:

· - Support the Chef de Cuisine in leading the BOH team and enforcing kitchen standards

· - Oversee service execution, ensuring food meets all quality and presentation expectations

· - Train, mentor, and coach junior sous chefs, chefs de partie, and line cooks

· - Assist with menu development and execution of seasonal dishes and specials

· - Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control in collaboration with CDC

· - Monitor labor, food cost, and waste control to maximize profitability

· - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times

· - Act as acting CDC when required, ensuring smooth operations and leadership continuity

· - Communicate effectively with FOH managers to support seamless guest experiences

As Senior Sous Chef, you are a role model in the kitchen—balancing leadership with collaboration, execution with oversight. You inspire discipline, consistency, and growth in your team, while ensuring that standards are never compromised.

Qualifications

· - Minimum 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience in fine dining

· - Proven ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and drive results in a high-pressure environment

· - Advanced technical cooking and plating skills with attention to detail

· - Strong organizational and time management skills

· - Experience with scheduling, ordering, and inventory management

· - Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

· - Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
