The People & Equity Division, in partnership with the Technical Services Division, has commenced a capital project to replace the Onboarding 1.0 module with the new SuccessFactors Onboarding (2.0) solution.

This important initiative creates an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated individual with system testing experience, and a passion for technology and innovation, to participate in a Divisional project team.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and working collaboratively with other operational and/or project leads, the HR Consultant HRIS will be part of the SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0 project dedicated to upgrading the City's Onboarding module within the SuccessFactors system. This role requires an understanding of training design, development, and delivery, as well as change management principles at the City.

What will you do?

As an HR Consultant, HRIS supporting the implementation of the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding module, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of training and support for all user groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and deliver technical training in a variety of instructional formats such as in class, virtual instructor lead training (VILT), etc.,for the SuccessFactors Onboarding module, ensuring alignment with project goals and user needs across city divisions.
  • In partnership with the implementation partner, develop a comprehensive knowledge base to support onboarding workflows, including FAQs, process guides, and system navigation resources.
  • Create and maintain training materials, such as eLearning modules, job aids, manuals, and presentations using tools like Articulate 360, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Design and facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs to build internal capacity and ensure consistent delivery of onboarding training across users.
  • Apply change management principles to support user adoption, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and readiness assessments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including People & Equity, Technology Services, divisional users, and external candidates, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leverage prior experience in capital project training delivery to anticipate challenges, manage timelines, and ensure training milestones are met.
  • Ensure all training content and delivery methods are compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), promoting inclusive learning experiences.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and workshops, encouraging cross-functional learning and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and lead interactive workshops to gather feedback, demonstrate system functionality, and reinforce onboarding processes.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS), like Cornerstone, to deploy, track, and report on training activities and learner progress.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and functional testing to validate onboarding processes, and training effectiveness.

Key Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience delivering technical training for enterprise HR systems, ideally within capital project environments.

  • Experience in facilitation and knowledge sharing, with experience leading workshops and collaborative sessions.

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), like Cornerstone, for training deployment and tracking.

  • Strong understanding of change management frameworks and their application in system rollouts.

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, human resources management, business analysis, systems analysis, etc., or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SuccessFactors Expert SFX certification or accreditation is an asset.

  • Uses storytelling to connect with learners, simplify complex topics, and make training sessions more memorable.

  • Experience conducting training needs assessments for a variety of user groups.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance and accessibility best practices in training design and delivery.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship building, problem-solving, leadership, facilitation, presentation, interpersonal and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team, collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment or independently, as required.
