THE ROLE:
 

PETRONAS Canada is currently seeking an Operations Assurance Analyst to join our Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) team in Calgary. Reporting to the Operations Assurance Advisor, you will support the analysis of design, and validation of effectiveness of operational compliance procedures and controls. The successful candidate should be familiar with unconventional oil and gas operation activities and have experience conducting process reviews.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Review and analyze Operational governance and control frameworks (e.g. HSE, Security, Drilling Operations, Geology & Geophysics, Production Management, Supply Chain) to ensure appropriate implementation and ongoing relevance with internal requirements

  • Lead implementation and oversight of HSEMS and other mandatory checklists and assessments in alignment with PETRONAS Group requirements.

  • Conduct risk-based assurance testing of tools, controls, practices and processes, including preparation and presentation of results and findings

  • Perform annual HSE Management System assurance exercise

  • Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback/assurance review results, researching industry best practices and summarizing findings for continuous improvement initiatives

  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business activities and issues, gather relevant information/data, facilitate audit/testing processes and maintain an awareness of changes and compliance requirements

  • Participate in department projects and initiatives, providing input, supporting research and information, and completing assigned tasks, deliverables and timelines

  • Other special projects as required

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A professional designation such as a P.Eng, or 3+ years of experience working in production operations, asset integrity management or capital project environments

  • CPEA or CPSA considered an asset

  • The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships at all levels of the organization

  • A high degree of integrity, ethics and responsibility

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high volume department

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Lean/Six sigma designation considered an asset

  • Internal audit/consulting experience considered an asset

  • ISO Management System Assurance experience considered an asset
