Toronto Ontario MV K Canada Guru Studio Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

For over 20 years, Guru Studio has been a leader in animated storytelling, bringing some of the most beloved children's properties to life. Now, we're setting the stage for the next chapter with a brand-new studio space—and we need your expertise to make it happen.

We're getting a new home -  join us in building our future

Guru Studio is on the hunt for a Rockstar Construction Project Manager to lead the charge as we embark on an exciting journey to a new studio space

We're looking for a hands-on Construction Project Manager to lead the relocation and build-out of our 200+ person creative studio in Toronto. This is a high-impact role for someone with general contracting, site supervision, and project management experience, who also holds a qualified General Contractor certification recognized in Ontario.

You'll manage every stage of the project. From construction execution, RFP coordination, and vendor coordination to workspace setup and relocation, ensuring it's completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

If you've managed relocation projects for creative workspaces before, come be part of this exciting journey

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Oversight: Oversee general contracting and site supervision. Manage the RFPs,
planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and designers to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Project Management: Lead the overall relocation and construction, creating detailed timelines, managing budgets, and ensuring resources are aligned to meet all goals. Find smart, cost-effective ways to deliver the project efficiently while ensuring the new studio remains high-quality, durable, and functional long-term.
  • Relocation Planning: Develop and oversee a seamless relocation plan, ensuring minimal disruption to operations during the move to the new studio space.
  • Vendor Coordination & Contractor Relationships: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors, including movers, construction teams, IT specialists, and designers to meet the studio's needs efficiently.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the go-to person for all internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns with clarity and confidence.
  • Facility Setup: Oversee the setup of workspaces, equipment, and infrastructure to create an optimal environment for our team.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure the new facility meets all regulatory requirements, including safety, zoning, and accessibility standards.
  • Problem Solving: Deliver cost-effective, practical solutions, tackle challenges head-on, adapting plans as needed to minimize disruptions and keep things moving smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified General Contractor certification recognized in Ontario.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale relocations with hands-on expertise in general contracting, site supervision, and construction project management—experience in creative environments like animation or production studios is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with compliance, building codes, safety standards, and RFP management
  • Exceptional project management skills, with expertise in balancing logistical, financial, and creative demands.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, spreadsheets, and related software.

Contract Details:

  • 12-month contract with potential for a permanent role.
  • The chance to shape the future of one of the most creative studios in the industry.
  • Work with an incredible team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
