Quality Assurance Manager
Superior Airways is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.
Superior Airways is an established float and wheel charter company located at the Red Lake Airport. We operate a diverse fleet including King Air 200s, Piper Chieftains, Cessna Caravans (on wheels and amphibious), as well as De Havilland Otters and Beavers on floats, serving customers throughout Ontario and Manitoba.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Person Responsible for Maintenance and the Accountable Executive, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for conducting internal and external audits of the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or possess equivalent experience in aviation quality assurance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Superior Airways' quality standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct internal base audits and external vendor audits as required by the Quality Assurance Program.
· Monitor maintenance activities and ensure adherence to applicable manuals across all maintenance locations.
· Participate in the Quality Assurance Program, including conducting audits and evaluating program effectiveness.
· Assist in generating Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for any findings identified in the QA Program.
· Collaborate with and assist external auditors, representing Superior Airways in a professional manner.
· Attend and participate in production and team meetings.
· Assisting with developing and oversee the Reliability Program, maintaining a thorough understanding of its processes.
· Prepare monthly reports summarizing key performance indicators and initiate investigations or root cause analyses where required.
· Maintain quality documentation and records, including inspections, rework, and certifications, in accordance with the Quality System.
· Provide quality input for revisions to standards and procedures contained in company manuals and assist with implementing new procedures.
· Support compliance monitoring of Stores and Material Control functions.
· Ensure defects and MEL (Minimum Equipment List) items are recorded and rectified in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Stay current with all company and regulatory training requirements.
· Oversee the training of direct reports, ensuring all personnel remain current with technical and regulatory requirements.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
· Previous experience in quality assurance, reliability programs, or as an apprentice/AME is considered an asset.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
· Knowledge of auditing procedures and airline standards/regulations is considered an asset.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Highly detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Compensation and Benefits
· Wage: $25-40/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
· Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
