Data and Evaluations Analyst (16 months Contract)

JIAS Toronto is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping immigrants with resettlement in the Greater Toronto Area. JIAS Toronto assists lawfully admitted immigrants and refugees in meeting basic financial, social, legal, and other requirements of immigration. We work to advance the well-being and social integration of newcomers by providing a full range of outreach, support, counseling, training, and referral resources.

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Data and Evaluations Analyst to serve as a project lead within our Data, Research, and Evaluations Department. This role is central to advancing our organizational learning, accountability, and impact measurement across programs and services. The successful candidate will lead evaluation initiatives, support grant compliance, and guide data-driven decision-making aligned with our strategic plan. This position requires advanced proficiency in Salesforce reporting, program evaluation methodologies, and the ability to manage and mentor a junior data analyst. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using data to drive social change and will bring experience in the settlement sector or social services. This role with work closely under the supervision of the Manager, Research, Data and Evaluations. This position is a contract position, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in person at the JIAS offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze program and service data using Salesforce reporting tools.
  • Generate insights to support strategic planning, service improvement, and grant applications.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for funders, including IRCC.
  • Program Evaluation
  • Design and implement evaluation frameworks using surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
  • Develop and apply logic models to assess program outcomes.
  • Conduct longitudinal studies and prepare comprehensive reports and debriefs.
  • Strategic Alignment
  • Co-develop and implement an organization-wide evaluation framework aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure evaluation practices are embedded across departments.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise and direct a junior data analyst to support evaluation and reporting tasks.
  • Provide mentorship and ensure quality control across data projects.
  • Project Management
  • Coordinate project stakeholders, including fellows, consultants, and external partners.
  • Support the planning and execution of conferences presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in a data-related field (e.g., Statistics, Program Evaluation, Public Policy, Social Research).
  • 5–7 years of experience in program evaluation, data analysis, and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, FormAssembly and Programs management tools like WRIKE.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including survey design and focus group facilitation.
  • Experience developing logic models and evaluation frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
  • Familiarity with IRCC reporting and the settlement/social services sector.
  • Languages such as Arabic, Farsi, or Russian are considered strong assets.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
