Job Skills / Requirements

Working on assigned shifts, you will be responsible for checking ID's of all students entering residence buildings.  Maintaining confidentiality, you will be expected to interact with students, staff and members of the public to provide directions and promote good customer service while providing a security presence. 

Position: Temporary Part Time Security Guard  

Site: Huron University  

Site Address:  1349 Western Road, London, ON  N6G 1H3 

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly   

Hours:  Thursday, Friday and Saturday 20:00 – 03:00hrs 

Payrate:   $18.54/hr

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: End of April

Posting Date:  Nov 24,

Internal Closing Date:   November 28,
External Closing Date:  December 15,

Key responsibilities:   

Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed Check In each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID Maintain confidentiality Maintain written reports Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers and the public Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures First Aid – be prepared to administer when required Maintaining a positive, productive work environment  Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned  

Prerequisites:   

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario   Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)  English (oral and written) fluency is a must   Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred Must possess excellent customer service skills Superior written and verbal communication skills Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations;  contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)   Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position   Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability   Authorized to legally work in Canada
