Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our Powersports service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, recommending necessary repairs, and ensuring a smooth communication flow between customers and technicians. This role requires a strong understanding of Powersports repair processes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to upsell additional services when appropriate. Experience in dealership environments or with mechanics is highly valued to provide credible advice and build trust with clients. Our service writers also help on parts as well.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a welcoming environment.
  • Listen carefully to customer concerns regarding vehicle performance or issues.
  • Write detailed and accurate service orders, including vehicle symptoms, repair requests, and customer concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians to relay vehicle diagnostics and repair needs.
  • Provide honest recommendations for repairs and maintenance based on mechanical knowledge.
  • Upsell additional services or products that benefit the customer's vehicle health while maintaining integrity.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
  • Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status, additional repairs needed, or future maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain organized records of service orders, customer interactions, and sales activities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Service Writer in an Powersports dealership or repair shop is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicles and automotive repair processes is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Sales experience, including upselling services or products, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
