Lawrence Calenti is a sole practitioner practicing exclusively in personal injury law. The office is located at Yonge and Davisville, in midtown Toronto. This is an onsite, in-person position.

Requirements to be considered:

  • Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Program with certificate;
  • Minimum of one year experience as a legal assistant or law clerk is preferred, but not required;
  • Competence with Outlook and Word and an eagerness to to learn additional legal-specific software applications as the office is paperless. Knowledge of Clio and Primafact an asset;
  • strong English language skills, both spoken and written;
  • familiarity with Statutory Accident Benefits an asset.

Specific job duties would include:

  • completion of OCF forms for accident benefits;
  • drafting correspondence to insurers and defence counsel;
  • preparing License Appeal Tribunal documents;
  • following up with undertakings;
  • drafting and production of letters to insurance companies, doctors, OHIP, police, etc.;
  • administrative tasks, including scanning, answering phones, scheduling meetings, coordinating with clients and opposing counsel;
  • draft statements of claim, affidavit of documents, motion records, trial records;
  • communicating with clients to obtain information necessary for accident benefits;
  • process insurer responses to claims and initiate follow-up action as necessary;

Remuneration: competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
