JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Director who will lead our enterprise QA function across manufacturing and R&O operations.
As Quality Assurance Director, your primary roles will be:
- Own the QA Program across sites: strategy, governance, risk management, and continual improvement for manufacturing and R&O.
- Conducting internal, supplier, and subcontractor audits in support of Quality System, Transport Canada/EASA Regulations and AS/ISO certifications, interface with authorities and customers, guide audit readiness and findings closure.
- Oversee inspection systems, measurement/verification, and technical configuration control; support Material Review/NC dispositions. Completing Non-Conformance Report dispositions when required.
- Identifying risks and planning mitigating actions to ensure compliance and improved quality; Supporting root cause/corrective actions and process improvements within the business.
- Providing technical assistance and quality training support to operations.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales to resolve issues quickly, translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows.
- Working within the provisions and guidelines of the 3PA QA system; Maintain QA documentation, MPM compliance, and technical configuration integrity.
- Process management: Define, own, and continuously improve core quality and production processes. Establish clear process standards, handoffs, and change-control, prevent "process for process' while ensuring regulatory compliance. Run regular process health checks and drive corrective/preventive actions tied to measurable outcomes. Chair the change board for material/process/configuration changes; assess risk, validation needs, and customer/authority approvals.
- Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices etc. Understand and follow the 3PA OH&S procedures.
- Performing other related duties as required and assigned.
Skill Required:
- Strong experience working in a Quality System certified to TCCA CARS 561, 571 & 573 with working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100, Knowledge of FAA PMA and PAH is an asset.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions.
- Able to demonstrate a motivated approach to work including the ability to plan, prioritize and work under pressure to meet set deadlines with good follow up and documentation skills.
- Experience with all Microsoft technologies and applications.
- Experience working in a Transport Canada Civil Aviation certified facility.
- Ability to analyze operational requirements and assess data for correctness.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Able to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills - customer focused; and
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
CERTIFICATE Requirements:
- 5-7 years related experience or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years experience as an ACA (AME) or SCA in a component shop is an asset
- Previous experience with Dash 8 and Embraer aircraft is an asset
- Quality Auditing Techniques and or training in Quality Management; and
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or related certifications are an asset.
