Broadband Maintenance Inc. is a leading Telecommunications Construction company servicing customers in the Ottawa and surrounding area. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Construction Labourer to join our growing business.

Applicants being considered will possess the following skills and abilities:

• Valid Ontario G Drivers License (or equivalent) with a clean Drivers Abstract
• Ability to lift 50 + pounds
• Must have understanding of direction drilling and locates
• Ability to read and write in English
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and in and around heavy equipment
• Ability to work both in all weather conditions
• Excavating existing conduit
• Physically fit
• Pulling and placing fibre optic cable
• Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications and effectively communicate information to team members
• Plan, execute and oversee construction activities to ensure project priorities and objectives are being met.
• Demonstrate strong leadership by setting a positive example and guiding team members efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures by maintaining a thorough understanding and enforcing safe work practices.
• Provide training and mentorship for labourers to support their growth and skill development.
• Assign tasks and project responsibilities to crew members, as well as providing project reports to management.
• Performs other duties as required.

The following experience will be considered an asset:

• Experience working with Mini-Excavator, Backhoe, and other heavy equipment
• Experience in landscaping, interlock, paving and concrete
• Able to read blueprints and/or construction plans
• Experience in telecommunication construction
