The Team:
Our Corporate Ratings team operates as a collaborative, expert-driven environment where you'll work alongside at team of analysts with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We maintain a supportive and flexible work environment that values both individual expertise and team collaboration. We operate in a hybrid environment with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office that fosters both in-person collaboration and flexible work arrangements.
Responsibilities and Impact:
As an Associate Director, you will analyze a portfolio of assigned entities as well as complex situations, data and information, and assess each assigned issuer's quarterly and annual operating results against financial projections. You will take responsibility for meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media and other investor inquiries, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credits, as assigned by a more senior manager.
Specifically, in this role, you will:
•Serve as the primary analyst for complex entities and be an active, vocal voting member of the committee who makes recommendations to the rating committee and prepares materials for ratings publication.
•Develop forecasts and recommend ratings for issuers and debt issues consistent with existing S&P criteria; learn and apply S&P internal systems, and effectively communicate S&P's methodology and procedures to issuers, investors and bankers;
• Write analytical reports, contribute to thought leadership pieces and synthesize analysis into well-reasoned and well-supported rating recommendations, expressing complex ideas clearly and persuasively
• Aid in identifying market trends while maintaining broad knowledge of specialized fields and their interrelationships in the market
• Work effectively with markets and jurisdictions outside of primary focus in a team-oriented, multi-cultural and global environment, collaborating with others to build trust and foster shared purpose
• Ensure a risk aware culture including leading by example, demonstrating judgment in how you define and structure work for yourself and your team
• Mentor and develop team members, focusing on providing detailed analysis and applying results to improve functional operations
• All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
• MBA, advanced degree and/or CFA designation
• 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
• Highly proficient at working with financial models, demonstrating advanced technical expertise.
• Demonstrated track record of analytical skills with ability to manage our operational systems and processes
• Critical thinking skills and proficiency with major off-the-shelf software, with ability to work effectively amongst different work styles and personalities
• Strong team collaboration abilities while maintaining capability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills with ability to express complex ideas clearly across different audiences
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on complex credit analysis projects
• Demonstrated ability to mentor others and provide guidance on analytical and problem-solving challenges
• Track record of writing analytical reports and contributing to thought leadership commentaries
