**Hiring for all Clerk positions: Grocery, Produce, Cashier/front-end**

Job Overview

Helps to keep the grocery shelves/displays well-stocked (Grocery).

Handle the stocking of fruit, vegetables, plants and bulk food items, and the removal of expired product from produce display areas (Produce).

Scan grocery items, accept payment for purchases, and maintain cleanliness and tidiness of department (Front End).

Ensure aisles in each department and throughout the store are clean and unobstructed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Front End:

1. Process customer purchases by scanning/entering price into cash register, and obtaining and processing payment.

2. Maintain cash drawer by securing and controlling money levels in cash tray.

3. Provide customer service by greeting customers and responding to their inquiries.

4. Maintain appearance and cleanliness of the department by cleaning and disinfecting, stocking/facing magazines supplies and candy items on racks and by removing un-wanted items left by customers.

5. Performs other related duties as required.

6. Perform cash office duties including open and closing duties ().

Grocery:

1. Maintain product levels by determining product required and re-stocking within established guidelines, and by conducting inventory counts.

2. Maintain product inventory levels by completing and submitting order forms, and receiving warehouse orders, checking orders received, unloading product from trucks, completing documentation, and storing product.

3. Provide customer service by greeting customers, and responding to their inquiries.

4. Maintains Health/Safety and Food Safety compliance by dealing with expired product.

5. Performs other related duties as required.

Produce:

1. Help maintain produce area by setting up and taking down displays, which includes moving product to/from cool storage, discarding damaged and/or items that are no longer fresh and identifying stock requiring replenishment.

2. Assist with the unloading of produce merchandise from delivery trucks as per store procedure.

3. Maintain Health/Safety and Food Safety compliance by cleaning and disinfecting work areas including counters, display and storage areas, floors, sinks, and equipment.

4. Provides customer service by greeting customers, and responding to their needs.

5. Performs other related duties as required.

Working Conditions

• Lifting weights of kilograms (e.g. bags of dog food, large bags of potatoes/onions/apples, cases of pop)
• Standing for long periods of time while at the cash, trimming and/or displaying product
• Reaching, bending and lifting of grocery items while scanning items or working product to the shelf/display (e.g., cases of pop, large bags of potatoes, dog food)
• Some reaching to display and cull products (e.g. large displays of fruits and vegetables)
• Some bending to clean surrounding floor area of debris
• Using equipment including knives for trimming product (e.g. Produce), box cutters and pump jacks to move skids through the store
• Exposure to heat, cold and dust, depending on location or department of work
• Exposure to chemicals used to clean conveyor belt, scanner, food alleys, cases and work areas
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job

Qualifications

• High School graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85-$19.20 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
