Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team in ensuring the optimal operation and safety of our long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in facilities maintenance and a focus on continuous improvement. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with leadership qualities and a passion for maintaining high standards of equipment performance and safety.

Duties

  • Be responsible for maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
  • Be responsible for lubrication of all equipment in the facility.
  • Be responsible for repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures.
  • Be responsible for carpentry repair and minor renovations.
  • Be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe environment throughout the Home.
  • Be responsible to ensure that preventive maintenance work is done on equipment.
  • Be responsible for maintenance of electrical equipment (i.e. motors, rads, pumps).
  • Be responsible for preparation work involved when painting is required inside or outside the Home (i.e. taping, crack filling).
  • Be prepared to be on call,
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Environmental Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Valid provincial license of electrician.
  • Good working knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, carpentry work.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff members.
  • Good health. Physically able to carry out duties of position

Pay: $31.24 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
