Key responsibilities
Patch and vulnerability management:
Plan, test, and deploy patches, updates, and security fixes across all Windows servers and desktops.
Compliance and security:
Ensure all systems meet security policies and industry standards, often including implementing configurations like Qualys.
Tool and process management:
Develop, maintain, and upgrade management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) or Intune for patch and software deployment.
Troubleshooting:
Investigate and resolve issues related to patching failures, application conflicts, and system performance.
Reporting and analysis:
Generate reports on patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, and system health. Use data to drive strategy and demonstrate compliance status.
Automation:
Use scripting languages like PowerShell to automate deployment rules, reporting, and other routine tasks.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work with security, infrastructure, and other IT teams to schedule and implement patching with minimal disruption to business operations.
