Summary
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) plays a critical role in aligning people strategy with business goals. Serving as a trusted advisor to leadership, the Sr. HRBP provides strategic guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, and organizational effectiveness. This role balances long-term strategy with day-to-day HR support, ensuring business leaders are equipped with the tools and insights needed to drive performance, engagement, and growth across the organization
Primary Objectives of the Role
- Partner with senior leaders to understand business priorities and design people strategies that support organizational goals.
- Act as a strategic advisor on complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance, fairness, and consistency while mitigating risk.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives, including succession planning, talent development, and organizational design.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by embedding practices that support a culture of belonging and collaboration.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees, fostering leadership capability and employee engagement.
- Monitor all employment practices to ensure CSN adheres to applicable federal, provincial, and local employment legislation.
- Provide input into organizational structure changes, helping align human resources with business goals and growth plans.
- Use HR metrics and analytics to drive data-informed decisions, track progress, and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (e.g., Training & Development) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
- Support change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and high adoption of new processes, systems, or structures.
- Stay up to date with employment law, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation in HR approaches.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or HR certification an asset).
- 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a Business Partner or Senior HRBP role supporting senior leadership.
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising on organizational change.
- Strong track record in workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing business environment preferred.
- CHRP designation (or working toward it) is an asset.
Work Environment and Requirements
- Ability to attend the Oakville, Ontario office on a regular (2-3 times per weeks) will be given preference
- Open concept office environment.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
Travel requirements
- Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays
