We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Administer medication accurately following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing specialized memory care techniques and creating a safe environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and laundry tasks to promote a healthy environment.
- Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident's (personal assistive equipment) safely during transfers and mobility assistance.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in condition meticulously for accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and follow individualized care plans that meet each resident's unique needs.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for residents or clients.
- Participate in training sessions on CPR, first aid, hospice care, autism support, or other relevant certifications to enhance caregiving skills.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, patient monitoring, medication administration, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or hospice care are advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia or Alzheimer's is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the well-being of others through direct support and caregiving activities.
