The Mortgage Financial Management team is responsible for all accounting and reporting for The Canada Life Assurance Company's commercial and residential mortgages.

The Senior Mortgage Admin Specialist plays a significant role in the daily operations, as well as accounting and reporting functions. This position is responsible for performing daily procedures and activities, such as daily commercial and residential transfers, reconciliations, new loan funding administration, and accounting entries. This role is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What you will do

  • Performing tasks in accordance with the Company's internal control procedures to ensure appropriate cash movement.
  • New loan funding administration as required.
  • Daily valuation of segregated funds.
  • Daily problem solving and issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist management in streamlining and documenting processes
  • Perform ad hoc projects
  • Other general or department wide tasks as assigned

What you will bring

  • Completion of post secondary education, specializing in Accounting/Finance, such as Business Administration or B. Comm.
  • Experience with mortgages/investments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Well demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deal with fluctuating work volumes

The base salary for this position is between $44,900 - $67,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
