Who Is This Role For

Early-Career / Junior Survey Technicians

· You've done some surveying or construction work and want to level up.

· You want hands-on experience with GNSS, total stations, laser levels, Civil 3D, and field layout.

· Experienced Survey Technicians

· You've got strong GNSS/total station skills and can run layout confidently.

· You enjoy solving field challenges and supporting fast-paced civil construction work.

What You'll Do

(Responsibilities scale depending on your experience.)

· Layout & Field Surveying

· Perform layout for earthwork, utilities, grading, structures, and road alignments.

· Conduct topographic, control, and as-built surveys using GNSS and robotic total stations.

· Help establish and maintain project control points.

· Verify elevations, alignments, and tolerances for heavy civil construction.

· Data Collection & Processing

· Collect and process field data for cut/fill, volumes, and project tracking.

· Use Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar tools to prepare layout files and maps.

· Build and maintain DTMs, drawings, and digital documentation.

· Project Coordination

· Work with Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen to support sequencing.

· Read plans and civil drawings (training provided for junior candidates).

· Communicate discrepancies and site conditions clearly and proactively.

· Support drone mapping or GPS machine control workflows (experience-dependent).

What You Bring

We're open to a range of backgrounds. The ideal candidate has some combination of:

· Experience in surveying, civil construction, or geospatial work

· Hands-on familiarity with GNSS/GPS, total stations, or survey equipment

· Interest or experience with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or data collectors

· Ability to work safely on active construction sites

· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

For experienced candidates: ability to lead layout independently and troubleshoot in the field

Work Environment

· Outdoor, field-based role on active construction sites

· Uneven terrain, changing conditions, and heavy equipment nearby

· This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground position

· PPE required (we provide what you need)

Hours

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

(Some overtime or adjusted hours as projects require.)
