We're looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team based in the 8330 Chester St. office in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Finance Manager and Director of Finance.
Job Overview: The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements, account reconciliations/accruals and auditing functions in accordance with standard policies and procedures. 


You will have the opportunity to:

•    Prepare and analyze periodic departmental income statements against budgets. Review any variances with department managers

•    Assist with period, quarter, semi annual and annual closings.  Also assist with departmental yearly budget, coordinating with other departments

•    Generate internal reports for departments and periodic reports for external parties

•    Manage capital assets, amortizations, credit card expense accruals and general ledger reconciliations

•    Manage sales channels reporting platforms and update and maintain relevant spreadsheets and databases

•    Participate in the automation of key processes, including; revenue recognition; bank reconciliations; accounts payable function; and accounts receivable function.

•    Together with the Senior Accountant, lead initiatives to streamline period end close by proposing ways to automate within the system, streamline preparation of journal entries, and recognize redundant procedures.

•    Audit and review invoices, expenses, cash, promotions and incentives
You will be a good fit if you have:

•    A Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in accounting, and are either actively pursuing or planning to pursue a CPA.  

• years of public practice experience in an accounting firm, or 3-5 years of general accounting experience

•    Experience with SyteLine is considered an asset

•    Strong knowledge of accounting standards and intermediate MS Excel knowledge

•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills

•    Strong organizational and prioritization skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks

•    Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate across a large group of stakeholders
