The Opportunity

Join the Financial Crimes Technology (FCT) team, a dynamic and global group within the Non-Financial Risk Technology (NFRT) organization. We are on the front lines, implementing state-of-the-art technology solutions for the firm's Global Financial Crimes (GFC) division, which manages critical programs like Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions/PEP & Adverse News Screenings, and Know Your Customer (KYC).

We are seeking a hands-on Scala Developer to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality code within our Big Data platform. You will be essential in developing and optimizing next-generation solutions for transaction monitoring and customer activity review, collaborating with global teams and senior stakeholders to define and execute our technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Write and implement high-quality, scalable Scala code on a Big Data platform for transaction monitoring, scenario optimization, and various data processing needs.
  • Strategy & Solutioning: Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to understand business problems and define strategic or tactical solutions for financial crime control applications.
  • Testing & Quality: Perform Unit Testing leveraging an automated test framework (including Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) techniques) and participate in rigorous testing efforts to validate technology solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis, data profiling, and data lineage to support development work and business needs.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement code optimization techniques to ensure maximum performance, scalability, and configurability of the platform.
  • DevOps & Release: Follow firm standards for adopting an automated DevOps release process across environments, including automated regression testing suite and UAT support.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Scala/Spark Developer.
  • 2+ years of development project experience specifically within a HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) platform.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, data profiling, and data lineage.
  • Expertise in writing SQL queries on RDBMS databases, specifically DB2.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform code optimization for performance and scalability.
  • Experience working in Agile (SCRUM) project environments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts.

Desired Skills (A Plus)

  • Experience with or understanding of the Actimize ACTONE platform features.
  • Knowledge of or development experience on AZURE Cloud-based implementation.
  • Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodology.
  • Experience with Machine Learning or predictive analytics techniques.
  • Possession of a Big Data technology certification.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $32,200.00-$307,311.35 per year
