VISION:
At the Ontario Native Women's Association (ONWA), we celebrate and honour the safety and healing of Indigenous Women and Girls as they take up their leadership roles in the family, community, provincially, nationally and internationally for generations to come.
SCOPE:
The Health Manager will lead, coach and support a group of employees and health programs while ensuring ONWA's vision, mandate, objectives and Community Member needs are met and align with ONWA's Strategic Plan.
The Health Manager will be responsible for ensuring all health programs, including the Mindimooyenh Health Clinic, are implemented and managed according to the program standards and guidelines. The Health Manager will integrate and share knowledge from public health sciences and primary health care to promote and protect the health of the Indigenous population. The Health Manager will manage, support and work in collaboration with all portfolios in the ONWA to provide the full continuum of health care to ONWA's Indigenous population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nursing diploma/degree, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited program and currently registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with unrestricted registration as a registered nurse and/or an undergraduate degree in social science/business administration field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Supervisory or Management role, in health or mental health service role.
- Minimum 3 (three) years previous work experience in supporting and advocating for Indigenous women and families.
- Demonstrated administrative and team management experience, with the ability to supervise effectively, foster collaboration, and build respectful professional relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to the Standards and Guidelines set out by the Ministry of Health and professional allied health systems as they relate to the public health practice settings.
- Proficiency in establishing and maintaining therapeutic Community Member relationships with individuals, families, and groups from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge and experience of Indigenous culture, traditions, ceremony and connecting Community Members to cultural practices, with an understanding of historical and jurisdictional issues impacting Indigenous health.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to negotiate, problem-solve, and collaborate with partners and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply the values of accountability, cost-consciousness, equity, excellence, honesty, innovation, leadership, and teamwork within a health team.
- Demonstrated capacity for reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of public health systems, Indigenous health care systems, and social determinants of health influencing Indigenous community well-being.
- Strong project management, financial planning, and time management skills, including experience with program/project planning, reporting, and results-based planning.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines under pressure.

- Proficient with MS Office Software, internet, and general office
- Ability to travel for work related purposes.
- Reliable vehicle, appropriate vehicle insurance coverage and valid Ontario "G" class driver's license.
- Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records Valid 1st Aid/CPR.

- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an
- Must be willing and able to work flexible working from home arrangement if This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.

The full salary range for this role is $87,000 - $107,574 ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.
