Working within the framework and directions for Northern Health's Strategic Plan, and in support of the organization's Vision, Mission Statement and Values, the Regional Manager, Medical Staff Contracts and Negotiations provides leadership and is accountable and responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to support all aspects of medical staff contracting and negotiations. The Regional Manager is responsible for the effective administration of contracts on behalf of Northern Health through planning, pre-award, award and ongoing management of contracts to medical staff. The Regional Manager ensures practices are consistent with industry standards, Northern Health policy, federal and provincial legislative requirements. The position provides medical staff contract management leadership across all levels of the organization to minimize risk to the organization, achieve desired results, and comply with accountability expectations. As a member of Medical Affairs Leadership Team ensures the effective integration of strategic and operational initiatives to support and engage medical staff across Northern Health. The Regional Manager provides critical linkage between Northern Health and external organizations such as the Ministry of Health (MoH) and legal counsel on contract management matters.

Starting salary will be approximately from $106,026 to $132,533 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant human services field or Business Administration plus seven (7) years recent related experience in healthcare at a high degree of complexity in area related to medical practitioners, leadership, relationship building, quality assurance, strategic initiative development and implementation.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership experience in program development, analysis and measurement utilizing continuous quality improvement methodology.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and highly developed interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior written and presentation skills including ability to prepare and deliver concise analyses, reports, briefing notes, and recommendations to multidisciplinary audiences.
  • Ability to function autonomously and within political environments exercising a high level of judgment to facilitate consensus and persuade/negotiate with a variety of local, municipal, and provincial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client focused services and teamwork.
  • Direct experience working collaboratively and effectively with medical practitioners.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex contractual, financial and regulatory issues and ability to adapt readily to a rapid and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate teamwork in a geographically diverse population with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to integrate administrative, professional and operational standards and expectations of the department to a team with multiple reporting structures throughout Northern Health in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to lead, participate and facilitate inter-disciplinary groups to foster cultural change.
  • Ability to effectively manage operating budgets, interpret and report financial information.
  • Precision and great attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
