The role
The Analyst, Data Compliance reports to the Director of Information and Data Management. This position manages a range of compliance responsibilities, including providing information in response to Information Act and Privacy Act requests and ensuring strict adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements. The Analyst also supports the Information Management (IM) team by implementing data protection measures, overseeing data retention schedules, and participating in data disposal processes. Additionally, the role contributes to developing and refining IM policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards.
The responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eDiscovery searches for records, ensuring all requests are addressed accurately and promptly.
Ensure that requests are processed within statutory deadlines and in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Information Management team on retention and disposition policy compliance.
- Support management of IT tools to uphold compliance and effective governance.
- Understanding of O365 technologies (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform and SharePoint)
The requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Software engineering or related field combined with 5 years of relevant experience.
- 4+ years working with Microsoft Purview
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Data Lifecycle Management, Information Protection, and Data Loss Prevention.
- Knowledge of information management systems and databases.
- Familiarity with Power Platform.
- Knowledge of Canadian federal privacy and access to information laws and regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external parties.
- Keen sense of professionalism and discretion.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
- Ability to attain or currently hold Canadian Federal Government clearance at the Secret level.
