About the role:

The Nanometrics Quality Assurance team is looking for a skilled Quality Control Technician, who will be heavily involved in assessing quality of incoming materials by assisting in establishing and executing material inspections. This role demands a detail-oriented individual dedicated to continuous improvement who has experience working within a Quality Management System. We are looking for a talented individual who is hands-on, self driven, motivated, and demonstrates a desire to improve quality within manufacturing. This role is critical to maintaining the highest level of quality of our products.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, components, and products for defects or deviations from specifications .
• Verify the accuracy of documentation, including Certificates of Conformance and packing slips.
• Conduct First Article Inspections.
• Use precision measuring tools and equipment to perform dimensional and visual inspections.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, with strict adherence to the Quality Policy and System.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in maintaining the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
• Collaborate with suppliers, procurement and quality assurance teams to resolve issues related to incoming materials.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and company procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control processes.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

What You Bring

• College diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 5+ years experience in quality control or incoming inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Google Suite, MS Excel, and basic statistical analysis.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments.
• Physical ability to lift and handle heavy materials, as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Visual acuity necessary for detailed inspection work.
• Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating measurement equipment.
• Experience with JIRA.
