Position: Electrical Engineer / Designer

We are currently seeking an energetic, collaborative, and technically skilled
Electrical Engineer/Designer
to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for buildings, particularly within institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors. This role is best suited to someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment and is eager to contribute to a variety of exciting and impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze building electrical systems, including system selection and layout.
  • Prepare and review electrical engineering calculations, equipment selections, and specifications.
  • Lead or contribute to the preparation of construction documents and detailed drawings/schematics.
  • Coordinate electrical design with mechanical teams, other disciplines, and external consultants.
  • Manage projects, liaising with clients, building owners, and contractors throughout.
  • Prepare fee proposals, cost estimates, and tender documentation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and project scopes.
  • Participate in construction oversight, including responding to technical inquiries during construction.
  • Supervise and mentor junior/intermediate engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit operators.
  • Conduct site reviews and attend client/project meetings.
  • Stamp and sign engineering drawings for submission.
  • Foster a strong, collaborative team culture with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Licensing

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.)

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the
    Ontario Building Code
    ,
    Ontario Electrical Safety Code
    , and applicable standards (CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, NFPA).
  • Proficient in design software and tools, including
    AutoCAD
    and
    Revit
    .
  • Experience designing electrical systems for complex building projects.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and project procurement methods.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to work
    in-person
    and collaborate in a team environment.
