Queen's Landing Hotels is seeking a Laundry Manager The Laundry Manager manages the laundry department by ensuring all laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.

Position Summary: Manages the laundry department by ensuring all laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Ensures all laundry items are clean and maintained in good operating order in cooperation with the Corporate Laundry Manager and General Manager
  • Manages Laundry Team Members to ensure duties are performed consistent with standard operating procedures
  • Accurately forecast laundry needs for Lais Hotel Properties based on business levels
  • Performs the human resource function related to recruitment, training, coaching, development etc.
  • Monitors laundering on regular basis to ensure all items are clean according to standards
  • Checks to ensure that all equipment is operating and if not, reports to maintenance to repair or replace if required
  • Creates Team Member schedules, reports payroll hours, addresses Team Member concerns, etc.
  • Prepare, conduct and follow through with monthly laundry inventory
  • Ensure items to be ironed are put into automatic presser machine
  • Count, sort and check laundry items to ensure proper inventory of all items
  • Perform routine spot checks on all items for damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discards
  • Logging information for count, damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discarded items
  • Monitors all machines and reports any machine breakdowns to the Maintenance department
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties' products and services
  • Retrieve, sort and load soiled laundry into washing machines
  • Load clean laundry into the dryers
  • Sort and folds laundry when dry
  • Fill Duty Manager shifts when required
  • All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

  • Computer skills an asset
  • 3-5 years hospitality industry through experience or courses required
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
  • Must have a clean driver's abstract in order to operate company vehicle

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting, bending, carrying and standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Working in seasonal temperature extremes in Guest rooms and in outside hallways
  • Ability to push, pull, and to lift up to 50 pounds
