      Northern Lights School Division No.113 is a provincial school system serving a predominantly Indigenous school population throughout an area encompassing the entire northern half of Saskatchewan. The schools are very diverse ranging from 10 to over 500 students per school, and catering to Cree, Dene, Métis, French, and English cultures and languages.

    NLSD provides a full range of pre-kindergarten to Grade Twelve programs to more than 4300 students in 21 schools. We have offices located in the beautiful communities of La Ronge and Beauval, both approximately 400 kilometers north of Saskatoon.
     
    The division is progressively piloting programs unique to Canada, staying on the cutting edge of technology, and integrating the varied cultural aspects of the communities into the classrooms.
     
    FTE: Full-time
    Term of Employment: Temporary to June 26, 2026 with the possibility of extension
    Salary and Benefits:  According to the provincial salary grid ) plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a Northern living allowance.  Moving assistance may also be available.

    Qualifications:
    • Saskatchewan Professional A Teacher's Certificate (or confirmation of eligibility)
    • Knowledge and experience working with a variety of specific student needs that may include autism, multiple disabilities, cognitive disabilities etc.
    • Knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit languages, histories, and cultures
    • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as independently
    • Classes in Inclusive Education is considered an asset
    The successful candidate will:
    • Work within a team to support students with diverse needs in the following ways:
      • Collaborate with Student Services Teachers to give information needed to create referrals
      • Attend specialists' appointments and follow up with specialist recommendations
      • Follow collaboratively created Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIPs) within the FIP programming 
      • Mentor educational assistants and plan IIP goal opportunities throughout the school day
      • Collaborate and consult with student services consultants, specialists, outside agencies, and parents
      • Document student progress with goal data tracking and IIP Progress Reports. 
    • Monitor and participate in programming that addresses students' critical needs
    • Other duties as assigned by the school administration
