Salary: $100,000 per year
Position Overview:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing plant operations to achieve business objectives safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role includes employee oversight and ensuring that production activities run smoothly, meet quality standards, and comply with company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage plant operations related to production and facility maintenance.
- Develop action plans to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Coordinate plant activities to meet manufacturing objectives on schedule and within budget, collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing teams.
- Liaise with Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing departments regarding the scheduling of free-issued items and purchased goods.
- Ensure employees are appropriately trained and compliant with safety standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Provide visible supervision to the production team, overseeing daily work assignments and fostering teamwork and positive morale on the shop floor.
- Participate in project meetings, providing feedback on production hours and output expectations.
- Support compliance with facility ISO standards and other certifications.
- Monitor plant performance and prepare production and performance reports as required.
- Develop and implement methods to eliminate manufacturing problems and improve product quality.
- Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, attendance tracking, promotion, retention, compensation, and termination activities.
- Lead safety initiatives, shop-floor organization, plant cleanliness, and continuous improvement initiatives among plant personnel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Power Generation sector.
- Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP software (preferably Infor Visual Mfg).
- Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, ANSI, CSA, and API standards and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints.
