Role Description
We're looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Commercial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll turn complex data into actionable insights that guide decisions across sales, marketing, operations, and category management. You'll deliver recommendations on assortment, pricing, shelving, and promotions, serving as the link between market intelligence and go-to-market execution to drive growth and strengthen our brands.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insights
- Collect, consolidate, and analyze internal and external sales, market share, and financial performance data.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs, trends, and performance drivers across brands, categories, and provinces.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, margin improvement, and portfolio optimization.
- Support business cases and ROI analysis for new product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional investments.
Forecast & Analysis
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to align demand forecasts with production and inventory availability.
- Monitor variances between forecast and actuals, providing insights and recommendations for course corrections.
- Support the S&OP process with customer-level data and commentary
Category Management Support
- Provide category reviews and insights to retail partners and provincial boards, positioning Cannara as a trusted category advisor.
- Analyze consumer behaviour, retailer performance, and competitive activity to inform assortment, pricing, and promotional recommendations.
- Collaborate with Sales and Trade Marketing to optimize shelving strategies, planograms, and retail execution.
- Identify whitespace opportunities for new product development and innovation.
- Support retailer listings with fact-based insights to drive incremental distribution and share growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a commercial, business analyst, or financial analyst role (CPG or cannabis industry experience preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, dashboards) and exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of financial statements and key performance metrics.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into concise, actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and retail partners.
- High attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bilingual (French & English) is a strong asset.

Nous recherchons un(e) analyste commercial(e) hautement analytique et rigoureux(se) pour se joindre à notre équipe. Dans ce rôle, vous transformerez des données complexes en informations exploitables qui orienteront les décisions en matière de ventes, de marketing, d'opérations et de gestion de catégorie. Vous formulerez des recommandations sur l'assortiment, les prix, la mise en tablette et les promotions, en faisant le lien entre l'intelligence de marché et l'exécution commerciale pour stimuler la croissance et renforcer nos marques.
Responsabilités principales
Analyse de données et informations
- Recueillir, consolider et analyser les données internes et externes sur les ventes, les parts de marché et la performance financière.
- Concevoir des tableaux de bord et des outils de suivi pour mesurer les indicateurs clés (KPI), les tendances et les leviers de performance par marque, catégorie et province.
- Identifier les opportunités de croissance des revenus, d'amélioration des marges et d'optimisation du portefeuille.
- Appuyer la préparation de cas d'affaires et d'analyses de rentabilité (ROI) pour les lancements de nouveaux produits, les stratégies de prix et les investissements promotionnels.
Prévisions et analyses
- Collaborer avec les équipes des ventes, des finances et de la chaîne d'approvisionnement pour aligner les prévisions de la demande avec la production et les niveaux d'inventaire.
- Surveiller les écarts entre les prévisions et les résultats réels, en formulant des recommandations pour ajuster les plans.
- Soutenir le processus S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) avec des données et des analyses au niveau des clients.
Soutien à la gestion de catégorie
- Fournir des analyses et des rapports de catégorie aux détaillants et aux régies provinciales, positionnant Cannara comme un conseiller de confiance.
- Analyser le comportement des consommateurs, la performance des détaillants et l'activité concurrentielle pour formuler des recommandations sur l'assortiment, les prix et les promotions.
- Collaborer avec les équipes de ventes et de marketing commercial pour optimiser les stratégies de mise en tablette, les planogrammes et l'exécution en magasin.
- Identifier les opportunités de développement et d'innovation pour de nouveaux produits.
- Appuyer les présentations aux détaillants avec des analyses factuelles pour accroître la distribution et la part de marché.
Qualifications
- Baccalauréat en administration des affaires, finance, économie, analyse de données ou dans un domaine connexe.
- 2 à 4 ans d'expérience dans un rôle d'analyste commercial, d'affaires ou financier (une expérience dans les produits de grande consommation (CPG) ou l'industrie du cannabis est un atout).
- Excellente maîtrise d'Excel (tableaux croisés dynamiques, formules, tableaux de bord) et connaissance des outils de BI (Power BI, Tableau ou équivalent).
- Solide compréhension des états financiers et des indicateurs de performance clés.
- Capacité à synthétiser des données complexes en informations concises et exploitables.
- Excellentes compétences en communication et en présentation, avec la capacité d'influencer des parties prenantes interfonctionnelles et des partenaires détaillants.
- Grande attention aux détails et aisance dans un environnement entrepreneurial au rythme soutenu.
- Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) constitue un atout majeur.
