Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting patients with their eyewear needs. This position involves working closely with customers to ensure they receive the best optical solutions tailored to their individual requirements. A strong understanding of optical products, medical terminology, and retail sales is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting eyewear that meets their vision needs and personal style.
  • Perform measurements for eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring accuracy for optimal fit.
  • Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
  • Process orders for eyewear and manage inventory effectively.
  • Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the laboratory area.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to products or services.
  • Stay updated on the latest optical trends, products, and technologies.

Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of optical products and services.
  • Knowledge of making glasses.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care.
  • Experience in laboratory settings, including lens fabrication and adjustments.
  • Strong background in retail management and sales techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
