Machinist (Afternoon/Evening Shift)

WHAT YOU'LL DO…

Our production team is expanding, and we're seeking a skilled Machinist with experience in manufacturing, particularly with aluminum and stainless-steel products.

In this role, you'll be responsible for machining WeKid products, ensuring a strong focus on health and safety, enhancing efficiency, and upholding MAKR's commitment to quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Layout bends and straight pipe for machining
• Operate CNC and manual machining equipment in a safe manner
• Operate all cutting, grinding and drilling equipment in a safe manner
• Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment in a safe manner
• Work with Quality Control, Engineering, Safety Committee and Management to continuously improve the product, manufacturing processes and working environment.
• Accurately track job time using tablet and the bar code system
• Attend and participate in the company-wide daily meeting and shop floor meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary degree in Machining or Fabrication trade preferred
• Previous experience working in a Machine Operator or Fabrication role is required, prior work with stainless steel pipe, plate, and sheet is a bonus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints required

OTHER INFORMATION:

• This is an on-site position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC)
• This position works Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days, afternoon/evening shift
