Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist to join our dynamic IT support team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in providing advanced technical support, managing computer networks, and troubleshooting a wide range of hardware and software issues. This role involves supporting diverse operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. The Senior IT Specialist will also be responsible for managing service requests using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy, while delivering exceptional customer service to internal users. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where technical expertise and excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for desktop and server hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Manage and troubleshoot network components including LAN, firewall configurations, and VPN connections to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Support and maintain computer networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Utilize ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy to log, track, and resolve service tickets efficiently.
  • Assist users with software troubleshooting, operating system issues, and hardware problems via help desk support channels.
  • Configure and support security measures such as firewalls to protect organizational data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades, patches, and new technology deployments.
  • Document technical procedures and provide training or guidance to end-users on best practices for IT usage.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends related to IT support tools like Operating Systems, LAN management, and cybersecurity protocols.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior IT support role or similar position with a strong background in computer networking and system administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux operating systems, including software troubleshooting and hardware support.
  • Hands-on experience with VPN setup and management for remote access solutions.
  • Proficiency in using ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for ticketing and workflow management.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles including firewall configuration and LAN management.
  • Familiarity with help desk operations focusing on customer service excellence in technical environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical users. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional committed to delivering high-quality support while advancing their expertise in a collaborative environment.
