A Warehouse Security Guard is responsible for protecting the establishment and ensures all civilians are safe at all times. The incumbent will be the first-line representative to all staff, customers, and clients.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the protection of property by maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, drivers and visitors.
  • Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity
  • Respond to all issues and/or incidents as they occur. Ensure response procedures and notifications are in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist with the evacuation or movement of employees, drivers and visitors in emergency situations
  • Maintain and develop a customer service oriented relationship with staff, drivers, contractors, labor, and members of the public
  • Work various day and night shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform detailed and diligent patrols
  • Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel
  • Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed
  • Draft reports

Skills Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented
  • Ability to exercise vigilance and multitask is required (Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment)
  • Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute in a timely manner
  • Work various day and night shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must hold and maintain valid applicable Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Reliable commute as the site is not accessible by Transit
  • Minimum of 6 months of security experience
  • Warehouse/Industrial Security experience would be an asset
