Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Designer with hands-on CNC machine operation and estimating experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and production aspects of façade fabrication — from creating accurate shop drawings and preparing cutting files to assisting with material take-offs and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create shop drawings and fabrication details for ACM and façade systems using AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Prepare CNC cutting files for the Apex3R Router and CNC Hydraulic Press Brake.
  • Review architectural drawings and specifications to ensure feasibility in production.
  • Perform material take-offs and cost estimates for cladding and panel projects.
  • Work closely with production and estimating teams to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate design revisions based on site measurements, client feedback, and project changes.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, material lists, and production data.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and production quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering, or Industrial Design.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in ACM/cladding design or drafting.
  • Experience operating CNC machinery (router, press brake, or similar).
  • Knowledge of estimating or material take-offs for façade systems.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of CAM software is an asset.
  • Knowledge of: Building envelope systems, aluminum cladding, and fabrication processes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving ability.
